Anglea's Story

Travelling to Ghana in July 2009 changed my life in many ways. It was such an amazing experience teaching and learning with others. The experience was massive professional development for me as I was able to work alongside some amazing teachers from New Zealand and learn from them. The highlight for me was seeing the teachers in the school I worked in begin to get excited about teaching and learning and see them practicing the skills we had taught them with big smiles on their faces. The work was hard but worth it. We are blessed to be a blessing and this was an opportunity to do this. Ghana is a beautiful country and the people were lovely. The children in my own class back in NZ were also impacted by my travels and I consistently heard comments about saving paper and resources because "the children in Ghana don't have any". I am looking forward to another awesome adventure again this year!
